Fuck the mindset. Fuck the colorism. Fuck the fucking excuses for their fuck ass attitudes toward Haiti. Fuck the fact that they hang on to the 15% of European blood left in their fuck asses. Fuck the fact that they cannot admit to their own identity crisis, though it stares them in the face. Fuck the professors who look at me as if I’m stupid while I describe the experiences my friends and I have had and then respond that they have no idea why such rude treatment occured. Fuck the fact that I feel uncomfortable walking down the fucking street. Fuck the fact that they let me use the bathroom in a club because of my complexion but wouldn’t let my dark complexioned friend do the same. Fuck the Jamaican bouncer who was complacent and then told my friends that they were, ” Pretty for Haitian girls” in spanish. Fuck the fuck ass politicans and citizens in this country who make up excuses for the massacre of thousands of Haitian Dominicans under Trujilio’s Regime and who still can’t express remorse for their deaths. Fuck the fact that in their musuem they have to display their AFRICAN heritage behind a wall. Fuck them. Fuck what they stand for. Fuck their mindset. Fuck their culture. FUCK THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.

A Note: So, I wrote that when I was very angry. Very angry & with a lot of tequila in my system. Those are not my true sentiments. I wouldn’t take back this experience for the world. There are a lot of things that I am still trying to understand, things that I will probably never understand and that is ok. This is what study abroad is about right. Experiencing a culture and in turn anaylzing yourself and the world. A lot of my sentiments expressed above are not and were not fair. Just raw emotion and hurt.
